Make sure you keep refreshing the page for more updates!

9:05pm And so begins the live blogging. Be prepared for live thoughts, lots of art (some mis-spelt words) and more live art!

9:09pm Claire Burke (our resident live artist at Exeter Phoenix) introduces the night.

9:16pm Two artists spar with their lives, with little details about the big events. School (teased for wearing contact lenses), University (failed to join the football team).

9:24pm In an interesting twist one artist kissed the other & in response the kissed artist pulled out a saw.

9:25pm Are artists selfish? Authentic? Shocking?

9:26pm What is a portable subversion equipment?

9:33pm It’s a green rucksack.

9:35pm Watching youtube videos of artists presenting their art to the public

9:36pm The audience are playing with the saw that is also art *nervous*

9:44pm Wonder what @cadenza2100 is writing about?

9:46pm Everyone has is reading the message intently that is appearing on the screen

9:47pm Don’t forget to check out @exeter_phoenix and @ShinyShoeClaire where I’ll be live tweeting about LIVE ART MEETS

9:52pm Why are people obsessed with defining what art is & how much it is worth?

9:52pm I always think this is a futile concept to try and figure out. Art is art is someone says it is.

9:56pm Art on public toilet doors? Hand prints on walls?

9:58pm Finding the discussion strange & interesting.

10:00pm Bodily functions are not art. This is my current opinion.

10:09pm It is very brave to talk about other people art (especially in front of the artist)

10:12pm Do art critics read too much into art? Does art then take on that meaning?

10:13pm Perhaps artists, if they paint automatically, or subconsciously, then art critics can look at art & see the meaning.

10:17pm Next piece of art: The Sensation of Walking

10:18pm Walking, moving, beats, steps, taps, words, journey, feet, walking, pavement

10:20pm ‘Are you telling me Neighbours on TV is art?!?’

10:22pm No.

10:31pm That was the first LIVE ART TWEETS! Thanks for having a look. Next one Tue 22nd May. See you at Exeter Phoenix!

You totally misses the point, which is that we videoed a homeless guy in the street talking about art. Then, as luck would have it, we persuaded him in off the street, into an art gallery, to watch himself on a big screen.

Not forgetting that Chris was also offered a gig at next month’s Live Art Meets!

    Hi Claire,

As you might possibly have gathered from Tuesday evening’s events, it’s a bit too quiet for our taste in here!

We’ve now restarted the discussion over at:

    Hope to see you there,
